Asuragen

Asuragen, based in Austin, Texas, has its roots in Ambion^®, “The RNA Company”, a highly successful molecular biology reagent company that was formed in 1989 by Matt Winkler, then a University of Texas professor. Asuragen is a fully integrated diagnostic company and molecular biology service provider, focused on molecular oncology and genetic diseases, with emphasis on microRNA (miRNA). Its goal is to create a strong molecular diagnostics company with a particular emphasis on RNA in general and microRNA (miRNA) in particular. The new company is leveraging its RNA and miRNA expertise into molecular diagnostics, pharmacogenomic services, and therapeutics.

A fully integrated RNA-based therapeutic and diagnostics company with a core focus on miRNA, Asuragen is leveraging its broad miRNA/mRNA IP portfolio to build a significant business focused on four product segments:

• Pharmaceutical Services
• CLIA Lab (*NEW* KRAS and BRAF Testing)
• microRNA Therapeutics

While managed as four distinct business units, Asuragen utilizes its expertise and understanding of miRNA/mRNA in each category. Asuragen is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the recent discoveries of the role that miRNAs play in disease.

Asuragen’s current diagnostic product portfolio consists of Signature® Genetic Testing and Oncology Testing products as well as industry leading controls and standards engineered using its patented Armored^® RNA technology including custom Armored RNA constructs for licensees of its Armored RNA technology. Additionally, Asuragen is the only company that offers the full range of contract manufacturing services for high quality RNA and provides GMP contract manufacturing for in vitro synthesized RNA for use in vaccines. Asuragen is dedicated to developing new technologies that will become cutting edge clinical products.
